Mother’s Day Readings

Mothers Day Readings

I would like to wish all you lovely ladies a wonderful Mother’s Day, if you will be by yourself then make sure you treat yourself and do something nice.

If your beautiful mum or grandmother is now residing with the Angels, take a few moments during the day to light a candle and remember the happy times you spent together, drawing on those memories will comfort you, the loving energy you vibrate will bring them closer to you.
Although I’m sure that you already know that they are always watching over you x

I have a few Interesting facts for you that I have looked up on the internet!

Mother’s Day was first celebrated in 1908, when Anna Jarvis held a memorial for her mother at St Andrew’s Methodist Church in Grafton, West Virginia. St Andrew’s Methodist Church now holds the International Mother’s Day Shrine.

Mothering Sunday is the fourth Sunday of Lent. Traditionally, it was a day when children, mainly daughters, who had gone to work as domestic servants were given a day off to visit their mother and family.

Celebrations of mothers and motherhood can be traced back to the ancient Greeks and Romans, who held festivals in honour of the mother goddesses Rhea and Cybele, but the clearest modern precedent for Mother’s Day is the early Christian festival known as Mothering Sunday.
